Dr. Thanh Duong

Dr Thanh Duong is a highly experienced radiologist who completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia and undertook his radiology training in South Australia. During his training, he gained comprehensive experience across all major tertiary hospitals in Adelaide and completed a rotation in Darwin, where he developed valuable expertise in tropical medicine—alongside a memorable pursuit of the elusive barramundi.

Dr Duong also currently holds professional appointments at the Repatriation General Hospital and BreastScreen SA. His clinical expertise spans general radiology, with a special interest in pain medicine and interventional radiology procedures. He is committed to improving patient outcomes through minimally invasive procedures that alleviate pain and enhance quality of life. He is dedicated to minimising discomfort during procedures and takes a patient-centred approach in all aspects of his work. His additional areas of interest include abdominal imaging, neuroradiology, and women’s imaging.

Before embarking on his medical career, Dr Duong completed a first-class honours degree in Biophysics and was a PhD research candidate. He remains passionate about ongoing professional development, staying at the forefront of radiological innovation and imaging technologies, whilst applying the latest evidence-based practices in his field. Outside of work, Dr Duong enjoys spending time outdoors with his young son and energetic dog—often found at the local park or beach.
